In December 2001 Interwood Ltd closed after 73 years in business.

Peter Whitehead and Michael Hinks, who gained their experience in this industry at Interwood Ltd, decided to purchase the spares, stock, intellectual property rights and the Interwood trademark allowing Allwood to continue the well-established name and supply spare parts, accessories and advice.

To this day Peter and Michael still build Interwood machines, and sell them through their website Allwood Machinery Essex Ltd.
