A Suffolk company required a special press to manufacture rubber belting

A company in Suffolk contacted us regarding a special press to manufacture rubber belting.

They required a small press high tonnage and high temperatures, with a pull out top platen so they could load there moulds which would be attached to the top platen.

We then designed a press with a top platen to be pulled out manually which they were happy with.

Once the machine was delivered to our store in Maldon and inspected by the customer, it was apparent the the platen with a 200 kg mould connected to it would be to heavy to pull out, our customer asked if we could modify the press so the platen could be driven in and out.

Our Engineers looked at the design and decided that we could connect into the hydraulic system of the press using double acting solenoid valves and a diverter valve to drive a cylinder that would move the platen in and out,we also needed to do some electrical mods and program a larger PLC into the machine and some steel work to hold the cylinder.

The work was carried out and the machine has now been delivered and is in full production.
